How We Got Started
Our History
Ujamaa Hauling was founded by the Shaganya family in 2021. Originally from the Congo, the family moved to Canada in 2009 and quickly grew fond of the country and their community.
Over the years, the family noticed an increasing need for small-scale movers in the city. Combined with a desire for connecting with the community and establishing new relationships across the city, they took the final steps they needed to start their business.

The name of our company was chosen out of our love for our community. Ujamaa, meaning “extended family” in Swahili, represents our dedication to helping others so we can become stronger together than we are alone.
By providing affordable services and smiling, friendly faces, we hope to create a legacy for our children and for generations to come!
